Settling my daughters into the school year coincided with the culmination of a two-year course in Neuro-lingistic Programming and Hypnotherapy. The learning continues and has provided powerful tools I use everyday!

The Synergy of Hypnosis and Scent!
Synergies never cease to amaze me and it felt good to be focused on studying, practicing and integrating many of the learnings of hypnotherapy with a new school year and the crafting of a new scent with Mary to expand our Firestone Sisters fragrance line.
The more I learn about the subconscious mind and where patterns are stored in the brain the more excited I am about all that Mary and I are creating with our catalyzing scents!
Hypnosis quiets the conscious mind and strengthens brain pathways that connect focus, awareness, and relaxation, giving direct access to the subconscious, where real and lasting change happens.
Scent has a direct neurological pathway to the subconscious through the olfactory bulb, which is part of the limbic system (the brain's emotional center). Unlike other senses, smell doesn't get filtered by the rational brain and can therefore transport you to childhood memories, emotional and physical states! It is a powerful anchor.
Here is a short hypnotic scent ritual to support you in anchoring in the feelings and states you desire! We recommend using The First for grounding, centering, uplifting, calming, and confidence; and Open for love, soothing your heart, forward movement.
HYPNOTIC SCENT RITUAL
1. Choose your scent. Spritz, roll the fragrance on pulse points, and/or burn the candle. Sit or lie somewhere quiet and comfortable.
2. Center yourself. Close your eyes, take three deep and slow breaths. With each exhale imagine letting go of tension and thoughts.
3. Gently inhale the scent. As you breathe in, imagine the scent moving directly into your heart and mind. As you exhale, let it spread through your body.
4. Softly say aloud or in your mind: "With each breath, I go deeper into calm." "This scent is my signal for peace and clarity." "Whenever I smell this fragrance, my subconscious remembers my strength."
****You can adapt these depending on what quality you are wanting - confidence, love, healing, focus, joy.
5. Anchor the state. As you inhale imagine gentle light filling your body. Visualize yourself already living in the feeling you desire. Let the scent lock in this state by pressing your hands together at your heart or pressing your thumb and pointer finger together.
6. Take a final inhale of the scent. Count slowly from 1 to 5, telling yourself when you reach 5 you'll feel refreshed, clear and awake! Open your eyes!
