A Wedding Weekend in Montecito, CA....
We've written little pieces about Montecito, but feel even more in love with this little town after spending an entire weekend there for our friend's wedding. The festivities began at Cava, a stylishly cozy, upscale Mexican restaurant right on Coast Village Road, the main drag in Montecito. We feasted on chicken and manchego quesadillas, crab cakes, garlic and herb shrimp, and chicken with anaheim chiles, tomatos and onions for our main course. Cava is also famous for their rock shrimp tacos and we have heard amazing things about their brunch. Their margaritas were the perfect compliment! Ole!
We had breakfast or maybe more appropriately brunch, both late mornings at Jeannine's Bakery. While it is definitely very crowded on the weekend mornings it is well worth the wait. The breakfast burrito and blueberry pancakes were some of the best we've ever had.
After feeding our hangovers, we browsed a few of the tantalizing shops. A couple standouts are Angel, an extremely well edited boutique carrying J Brand, Saint Grace, Cynthia Vincent, Chan Luu, Autumn Cashmere and so much more, and Civilianaire a new brand for us stocked with their own line of downtown prepster shirts and jeans.
We stayed at the Montecito Inn and while it feels a little dated, was the perfect location for our purposes. If you walk out of the hotel and go to your left you are strolling by all the quaint shops and restaurants. We explored going to the right on a run and it was honestly one of the most beautiful runs we've been on - along the ocean, past the Four Seasons, the Coral Casino Beach Club, and sprawling mansions.
We plan on spending much more time in Montecito! Basically the whole weekend we were discussing plans to all move there..... Just need to win the lottery first as our neighbors would include the likes of Oprah and Fortune 500 CEOs.
Congrats Amy & Eric! Thank you for an amazingly fun Wedding Weekend!
