An island you've probably never heard of but need to visit for rest and relaxation in the sun-- PINE CAY

TMCWebSite_03

Pine Cay is a tiny island a short boat trip or teeny plane ride away from Provodenciales in the Turks and Caicos, British West Indies.  It is the ideal place to unwind, recuperate and recharge- one of the last unspoiled, old fashioned (in a good way!) places.  The Meridian Club, with only 12 rooms and one honeymoon cottage, is the hotel on the island and the center of activity. The rooms are lined up on a pristine white powder beach leading to the turquoise sandy bottom ocean that is perfect for swimming.  Although the rooms are pricey, keep in mind that the rates include all of your meals, afternoon tea and treats and before dinner appetizers.  They also have sailboats and kayaks for guests who are feeling adventurous.  Daily snorkeling trips, bonefishing, as well as boat trips to neighboring cays are also an option.  In addition to the hotel, there are eleven houses for rent-- this is what we mainly do with our family and our favorite houses are Eugenia's and Nina Pine.  There are no cars on the island, only golf carts for getting around.  Each time we go, we meet the most interesting people- from Hollywood movie producers to fashion designers to Parisian DJs.  Pine Cay is an incredibly special place.  Go see for yourself.  And with Provodenciales only a 3 and a half hour direct flight from JFK, as well as daily service from Miami, it's pretty easy to get up and go.
