Avoiding stretch marks during pregnancy! Lube up, ladies.
Doing my best in my yellow So De Mel bikini on Harbour Island to keep pregnancy stretch marks away with Rodin Body Oil and Dr. Hauschka's Blackthorn Oil.
Pregnancy is not a time for vanity and yet, creating new lives is a badge we would prefer to not leave us marred by stretch marks. Although some of it has to do with genetics, friends and family have had great results by rubbing themselves with oil throughout pregnancy. I for one began lubing up as soon as I found out I was expecting! I have always been very pro-moisturizing which I was taught by both parents who I must say have lovely, dewy skin in their 60s-- Dad compliments of Lubriderm and Mom, Nivea.
I did my research on what oils are most effective at keeping stretch marks at bay and have been using Dr. Hauschka's Blackthorn Oil religiously. After bathing and also at night before bed. The areas to focus on are breasts-- hello growing three sizes in a few months!!-- the tummy (obviously)-- and don't forget your tush, sides and back which are all accomplice zones in making room for your baby. As I have been led by my nose in a big way the last few weeks purchasing overpriced shampoos and perfumes just because I swoon for the scent, I also splurged on Rodin's Olio Lusso Luxury Body Oil which I have been using intermittently with the Dr. Hauschka. It smells like a tantalizing melange of jasmine, rose and heaven basically. And gorgeous models and actresses swear by it for whatever it's worth.
What are you other pregnant mamas doing? Any moms who have already run the gauntlet with helpful remedies and tips?
