With the surf, sun and sand at Rancho Pescadero in Mexico

My birthday trip to Mexico was made by the three nights we spent at Rancho Pescadero, an understated resort set on miles of empty white sand beach about an hour north of Cabo.  Lucy had been last year and came home raving about the place, so I had to go and see for myself.  I agree, Lu!  What's not to love about this...

Coffee, fruit and fresh baked goods delivered to your door each morning, complimentary yoga (I liked the variety of the more didactic Scottish Lee one day and a more hippie zen female teacher the next day who was subbing for Lee), lunch by the pool, wandering down to the empty beach to read and sun or surf, massages at the tiny beachfront spa, cocktails at sundown, and a private bonfire and dinner for two on the beach (felt like we were on the Bachelor but had already gotten the rose).  The staff is also delightful- they are friendly and seem genuinely happy to be there and to be helping you.  And for $400/night for the two of us including our room, all our food and drinks, a massage, etc, this place is a steal.

The only thing I will request upon my return, and I will be returning, is a room with accents in a color other than lime green.  Lime green is not my color.
