The Broot Hair Treatment Bar in Santa Monica delivers shine, stregth and radiance naturally
I've been wanting to try the Broot, a natural hair treatment bar on Montana Ave in Santa Monica since it opened a few months ago. Finally, my friend Jamie and I made a date and went last week. Located in an unassuming block of Montana just across the street from Sweet Lady Jane, the Broot offers a variety of natural hair treatment masks using bananas, avocado, mayonnaise, raw eggs, honey and natural oils. This handy chart via Daily Candy breaks down what each ingredient is good for:
Upon being introduced to your therapist, she runs her hands through your hair, has a brief consultation with you and ultimately suggests the best treatment for your locks. The concoction is whipped up in a blender, and then applied to wet hair. A lovely scalp massage is administered sometime in the process as well. After the treatment has been applied, a shower cap is put on your hair and you are moved beneath a dryer for about ten minutes or so. After rinsing and shampoo, you can opt for a braid in wet hair or a a blow dry. We chose the wavy blow dry which we were both really happy with! Our hair felt and looked healthier and shinier for days and my hair stylist, commented a week later how fantastic my hair felt and to keep up the treatments. For $35, I think I shall.
