The Studio (MDR) is a workout like no other
Our friend Alex invited us to join her for one of her favorite new workouts-- a pilates inspired class at the Studio (MDR). She did tell us it was much harder than regular pilates. Sure, sure. Heard that before. So we headed to the prettiest, chicest studio we've ever seen for a class. Literally in the warm up we were gasping for air and thoughts of, "when do we get to take an F-ing break," were buzzing through our minds. As the 50 minute class wore on, our peppy and friendly trainer, Lindsay, gently corrected our form and cheered us on while sweat literally poured off of our bodies and our legs shook. Feeling completely worked out after the class, we shared we had never been through a pilates class like that before. The workout is born from pilates but mixes in muscle endurance and cardio-- all without impact. The promise-- a fitter, toned, sinewy body-- yes please! They also have delicious and nutritious Paleta juices on hand for a post workout snack. We can confirm they are tasty! Rumor has it that some of the LA Lakers are also devotees of the workout. Trim, tiny women and NBA athletes. Love that. Also loved that we were sore for days afterwards-- and in all the right places.
