Be Wild: BARNYARD in Venice is the place to be

We finally made it in to new Venice hot spot Barnyard last night!  The former chef of always packed Tasting Kitchen on Abbot Kinney, Jesse Barber, and his wife Celia, have revamped the former Benice just a few blocks from Windward Circle on Pacific.  Sleek yet rustic interiors offer a perfect backdrop to delicious food-- we loved the mushrooms, kale salad, ribs, and the fish special was the best fish dish we've had in ages.  The wine list is tricky to navigate as most hipster restaurant/bar wine lists are these days.  Please put some more local and recognizable wines on your list!  Other than that and wishing they had a better dessert menu, Barnyard was fantastic.  Buzzing but not annoyingly jammed, we bumped into lots of friends and had a lovely dinner.  We'll be back.
