Can we stay in school forever? The Washington School House Hotel.

After a rowdy bachelorette weekend of bunking with 13 other women in a house in Park City, checking into the Washington School House for a night was the luxurious calm after the most fun storm.  The aesthetics are immediately soothing and inspirational all at once, blending historical charm with modern luxury-- dark oak floors reclaimed from vintage barns married with soaring white beamed ceilings, a chandelier composed of antlers and crystal, fluffy white beds and linens, farmhouse light fixtures-- can you tell we were snapping pix to pin on our home inspiration vision boards?

Let's back up for a moment, Park City is the perfect, idyllic ski town. Like the Washington School House, it honors it's historic roots while providing vibrant and chic present-day comforts and conveniences.   In this charming and happily condensed picturesque old mining town, Main Street is now lined with delicious bars and restaurants (our faves are Handle, Fletcher's Tupelo, Yuki Yama, High West, No Name, Atticus), ski shops (we rented from Banhof) and boutiques (Prospect, Panache, Flight, Mary Jane's, Rootd). Another amazing thing about Park City is that you can literally hop on the lift right in town. Best yet, it is easily accessible via Salt Lake City which is a short and cheap flight from most big cities, Park City is then only a 40 minute drive!

And the most perfect place to stay while in this snowy utopia is certainly the Washington School House Hotel.  Just one block off Main Street and two blocks to the town lift (they will happily drive you, or up to the ski resorts of Deer Valley), the hotel is right in the middle of the action yet delightfully quiet and serene.  The main living room where included apres ski is served-- snacks and any drink of your choice- is for hotel guests only, keeping the vibe intimate and tranquil.  We sipped a Moscow Mule and enjoyed some cheese and charcuterie before taking a soak in the glorious spa on the pool deck nestled between the roof tops of town and the mountain.

Our room,# 6, was a two-story affair with a sitting room below equipped with a desk to journal your inspired thoughts, and a cozy television area.  Upstairs, our white marble bathroom was outfitted with Molton Brown products and was adjacent to an inviting bedroom. Also on the upper level, there is a daybed that can be made up as another bed as well.  Options!  It was hard to tear ourselves away from our heavenly suite, yet we did.

After a night out at the High West Saloon for drinks and dinner at Yuki Yama sushi, we returned to the flickering fire of the Washington School House where we were offered complimentary wine, tea, coffee, whatever we wanted.  We obviously had a glass of red wine and had the best time with Danielle, who was on duty and gave us tons of tips for the area.  At bedtime, we were delighted to find not only chocolates on our pillows, but little goody bags of Evian mist, lip balm and lavender room spray as well.  A hearty and delicious breakfast awaited us the next morning, which is also included in the room rate.

We absolutely fell in love with the modern luxury and historical homage of the Washington School House as well as the smart, charming and professional women who work there.  Over our glasses of red wine, we were earnestly plotting our return visit...  We continue to sketch out the details and hope to offer a Wild Precious Life retreat at the Washington School House soon so you all can join us for a visit to this mountain oasis!
