CANTALINI'S Italian Restaurant in Playa Del Rey- a hidden gem!
There are several restaurants in LA that we've driven by a hundred times and always wondered about. Cantalini's is exactly one of those. Located on Culver Blvd on the way to Manhattan Beach from Venice, it looks like a low key, beachy, home-style Italian restaurant from the outside. However, from just driving by, you're left to question whether the inside would be charming and cozy or sort of a dive? For us, Cantalini's was definitely a pleasant surprise. Although the interior is slightly dated (possible that some of the decor is from when they first opened their doors 50 yeas ago!) and definitely not fancy, it's warm and comfortable and the food is delicious and relatively simple - we loved the salmon piccata! Cantalini's is the perfect spot for a casual, hearty Italian dinner after a day at the beach in Manhattan Beach. Or if you're sick of your Westside faves.
