Alexander Payne's THE DESCENDANTS opens today
We were honored to attend the premiere of The Descendants Tuesday evening. It was dazzling to be in the midst of such brilliant creativity and watch the culmination of it on the big screen. Esteemed writer and director Alexander Payne, tells a story that somehow weaves humor into heavy crises of infidelity and death. Alexander's co-writers, Nat Faxon and Jim Rash, are writers making their mark and brought their humorous wit (undoubtedly honed by years as Groundlings) to the screenplay. George Clooney has never been so raw and vulnerable- as if we needed any more fodder for crushes on George. Breakout star Shailene Woodley, whose birthday was the night of the premiere and was serenaded with "Happy Birthday" led by George himself, does a sublime job playing his daughter. We were all enjoying the moment and are on the edge of our seats waiting for the Oscar nominations!
