Fried rabbit you say?  And Hamachi?  At the same place and they're both good?  Welcome to Brian Dunsmoor's Ladies Gunboat Society at Flores on Sawtelle just West of the 405.  Slightly random neighborhood unless you are after a Boba tea or Japanese t shirts, but it is worth adventuring to for reimagined Southern food with a modern twist.  Dunsmoor, of the pop up Wolf in Sheep's Clothing and more recently, the Hart and the Hunter, delivers exceptionally delicious dishes in a cool setting that is reflective of the Southern comfort meets sleek modern juxtaposition coming out of the kitchen.  Our favorite plates were actually the rabbit, the grits with morel mushrooms and every single dessert-- and we tried them all.  It also just got named one of the 25 new restaurants to try in Los Angeles by Zagat...  Sitting on the patio by the fire is the perfect spot to spend a summer evening.  Go for dinner or brunch on the weekend which they just started serving this month!
