HOTEL SURPLUS OUTLET-- furniture and decor from 5 Star Hotels at bargain prices!

When Napper, my husband, asked me to drive him to Van Nuys to drop off his car at the shop in Friday afternoon traffic, I was less than thrilled.  Begrudgingly I obliged and inched my way through horrific traffic on the 405 cursing the entire affair.... UNTIL.

As I rode down a side street deep in the Valley en route to the garage, my eyes lit up when I saw a gigantic warehouse proclaiming "Hotel Surplus Outlet."  After depositing the car at the garage, we doubled back to investigate.

Piles of teak lounge chairs, black metal chairs, pots and more were outside and inside the warehouse was chock full of chairs, lamps, desks, mirrors-- you name it.  And everything comes from 5 star hotels-- when they refurbish and redecorate they send their cast offs here.  But some of it is new too-- perhaps when they over order or go in a different direction....  And everything is very inexpensive and they are willing to negotiate with you.

I plan on visiting again soon as I see they have just received a shipment from Maison 140, one of our favorite boutique hotels in Bev Hills (and Kelly Wearstler designed!).  They also have an online store for those of you nowhere near the Valley that want in...
