Malibu Inn is Back and Better!

The iconic Malibu Inn reopened it's doors on April 13th and is picking up speed for the summer.  While it used to be a slightly seedy watering hole, it now feels cleaner and fresher after its revamping.  The outdoor patio is the perfect spot to enjoy a casual lunch, or dinner.  The food is American fare, but stick to bar favorites.  The popcorn shrimp and the lobster roll were awesome, however, the "smack and cheese" was surprisingly disappointing and the salads are unimpressive. The truth is you're not really going to the Malibu Inn for the food - the cocktails are great and the setting is fun, beach-y and there is live music!  LA doesn't have enough good places with live music where you can actually dance. Bands are playing most weekend nights and a decent DJ takes over when they are taking breaks so you can shake it out to the newest favorites. I've been there two Fridays in June and both bands were really good. All in all, the new Malibu Inn is a great summer spot for casual drinks and snacks after the beach or a night out with good music!
