We asked one of our best friends, Melinda Maria, jewelry designer to the stars (and us!) about her favorite getaway, what she packs and to pick her favorite pieces from her jewelry line for summer....

"Where do you go to get away from it all, recharge and get inspired?"

One of my favorite places in the world is where my husband and I got married, Lanai, Hawaii. It's an ocean-side paradise bordering a marine preserve that teems with colourful reef fish and protected species such as green sea turtles and spinner dolphins. I literally walk out from my room every morning and swim with hundreds of dolphins in the wild. It's so amazing. Lanai feels like a private island because it is mostly untouched, it's actually an old pineapple plantation.

"Where do you stay when you go?"

There are only two hotels on the island, both Four Seasons and we stay at both. Four Seasons Koele is on top of the island's mountain and has a totally different vibe than being on the beach.

There are tons of trees up dotting country hills everywhere you look as well as amazing hiking and waterfalls. Koele is truly a green and magical place. Then we go to the Four Seasons at Manele Bay on the ocean and lay around like lazy seals on the beach.

"What do you pack? Wear while you're there?"

Well I usually have a nice bronze glow here and NOTHING looks better with a tan than a big stack of Melinda Maria bangles!!!

An arm full of great bangles in the summertime (like the pod collection with a nice pop of color with the "GWYNETH Bangle in Turquoise," look incredible with a white maxi dress or a strapless silk flowy dress and some flip flops. Night or day! Oh and of course I ALWAYS wear a fresh flower in my hair from morning til night!..
