New from NEW YORK CITY-- hot spots to shop, eat and drink in Nolita
Fashionista friend Fiona Thomas has opened her first boutique along with pal Alision Sires, a former designer for Loeffler Randall, where the girls met. Thomas Sires is located in a sleek space in Nolita with a hot pink neon sign shining like a siren from the rocks to welcome you in to browse the Thomas Sires line of flirty dresses, hand-knit sweaters made in Peru, wool blazers. In addition to the fab clothing, you'll find an assortment of unique housewares that Fiona has picked up around the world on her travels-- napkins from Spain, gorgeous glassware from Japan and porcelain from Belgium. Sounds like one stop shopping to us and we can't wait to check it out when we're in the city next week to finish up our Christmas shopping-- for our loved ones... and ourselves!!
Also in the neighborhood, Cire Trudon, the luxe Parisian candlemakers who have been turning out artistic, heavenly smelling candles for centuries, recently opened their first stateside shop on Bond St. Who doesn't love decadent candles? And they are the perfect gift as it's no fun buying expensive candles for oneself....
For a fun lunch, afternoon tea, or if you've really shopped your heart out all day, a cozy delicious dinner, Peels on the Bowery is the newly opened spot by the guys behind popular Freemans Alley. We're excited to try the biscuits, fried chicken and diver scallops-- bringing us back to our half-Southern roots. Southern influenced cooking in a sophisticated setting- will definitely have a place in our hearts.
Thanks to our "NYC editor" Jess Romm-Perez of Food and Wine mag for these hot tips.... We love you, Jess! And might go broke thanks to all of your too good to be true shopping tips.
