Self tanners that will leave you glowy (not orange!), smelling good and ready for summer!

Dermatologist blasphemy, but the best accessory for short skirts, tanks tops and summer in general is a tan.  If you don't have time, it's too chilly, or you are following the rules about limited sun exposure, self tanner is a necessary weapon in your arsenal....

Noticing a friend looking sunkissed and bronzed the other evening, we asked her secret.

Kiehl's Sun Free Self Tanning Formula

Made with apricot kernal oil, vitamin E and cocoa butter, this light weight formula soaks into skin quickly to reveal a subtle tan which emerges within the hour.  Our friend mixes hers with a straight up moisturizer for a continual light tan.

In the past we have relied on Jergen's Natural Glow which provides for mistake free applications as it builds with each use.  It can leave you with a little bit of that chicken tandoori self tanning fragrance, but it tends to fade.

When we want a full boor "we've been in the islands for weeks" tan that is guaranteed flawless, we go to Lavish Tan or Chocolate Sun where a professional applies an airbrush tan for you.  At Lavish Tan, you can buy a spray can of their formula and take matters into your own hands when your tan starts to fade.  We've ever been brave enough to tackle our face and chest....

One organic tanner we're going to try is Lavera.  It gets rave reviews for the smell-- "peach sherbert," and the color it delivers.

Get your glow on!!
