Sponsored Post: Garden Party Style!
This time of year is perfect for barbeques and picnics in the backyard, why not fancy things up a bit with a more elegant Garden Party? Baby showers, engagement parties or simply just reveling in summer weather, “al fresco”parties are the perfect way to enjoy Mother Nature at her very best.
Having a party is the perfect kick in the pants to gussy up your house and garden. We’ve never been more motivated to buy furniture, plants and clean out the old than leading up to a soiree at our houses! With the right garden furniture, it’s possible to achieve style, comfort and durability without having to spend too much. Affordable garden tables and furniture can transform your outdoor space into a “living room”- we love nothing more than bringing the indoors outside and vice versa!
Think about the times of day when your garden will get the sun and make sure you take advantage of it. A gazebo is always useful – nothing ruins a party quicker than sweating to the oldies in blistering sun or getting rained on!
The Menu
Keep your menu cool and light to offset the summer heat. Fruit and vegetables that are in season are a great place to start when thinking about a menu. Peach and burrata salad and prosciutto wrapped melon or dates are two of our current obsessions.
Yogurt based dips are also healthy and delicious (Mary is super into these after her trip to Turkey last month!). Serve alongside hummus drizzled with a little olive oil and paprika sprinkled on top. Have a naughty and decadent dessert for your guests- summer is a time to indulge! We love our friend Marybeth’s peppermint brownies. Essentially, bake store bought brownies with peppermint patties on top! Yum.
The Drinks
Have the basics like lemonade, beer and wine – we like displaying them in washtubs filled with ice and offer one signature summer cocktail. We love watermelon margaritas -- refreshing and just the thing to get the party started!
Cheers!
