Stop the brutal slaughter of DOLPHINS in Japan
We were thrilled when "The Cove" won the Oscar for Best Documentary on Sunday so that more people will see the movie and be aware of what is happening in a small town called Taiji, Japan. From the official "The Cove" website, "The Cove exposes the slaughter of more than 20,000 dolphinsand porpoises in Taiji, Japan every year, and how their meat, containing toxic levels of mercury, is being sold as food in Japan andother parts of Asia, often labeled as whale meat. The majority of theworld is not aware this is happening as the Taiji cove is blocked offfrom the public."
Dolphins are one of the most intelligent mammals, some scientists hypothesize even more so than human beings. They are beloved by human beings for their playful and protective natures- they have saved many a human being from shark attacks. It is unthinkable and devastating on an emotional but also an environmental level that these animals are being murdered by the thousands each year.
Please watch this movie, spread the word and click on the link below to find out what you can do to save these dolphins.
