The Carneros Inn. A luxury resort amidst the vines in the Napa Valley!
We ended our recent wine research trip to the Napa Valley with two nights at the utterly fabulous Carneros Inn which pictures alone sold us on as well as recommendations from well traveled friends.
We checked in at sunset and were delighted by our picturesque cottage sublimely decorated by Shopworks opening onto a big private yard and patio.
After a soak in the hot tub with our complimentary glass of Pinot Noir offered at check in, we navigated the 27 acre property to arrive at the much lauded FARM restaurant for dinner.
We sampled a few cocktails to start and particularly liked Persephene's Curse made with Ketel One Oranjē, Canton Ginger Liqueur and Pomegranate Juice. After all the wine it was a refreshing respite.
Dinner was delicious and hearty yet didn't leave us feeling full- the sign of elegant gourmet cuisine. We adored the Carnaroli Risotto with Maine Lobster, Preserved Meyer Lemon and Parmigiano-Reggiano to start and both fish dishes for our main course-- Pacific Black Cod served with cauliflower, chorizo, braised greens in mussel-saffron cream and the Butter Poached Alaskan Halibut with Pearl Pasta ‘Caviar,’ Chanterelles, Corn, and Parsley Sauce. Clearly we were ready for some "lighter" seafood fare! Everything served in all the resort restaurnants is fresh, local and seasonal.
After dinner we walked "home" to our cozy cottage, got the fireplace going, flicked on the outdoor heat lamp and took in the stars.
Waking the next morning in our fluffy beds with luxe white linens, we went to the Boon Fly Cafe for breakfast. The Boon Fly Cafe is one of the other restaurants on the resort property , but it is beloved by locals as well for it's cozy ambiance, sugared donuts and decadent egg dishes for breakfast, and casual rustic lunches and dinners.
If you don't want to leave (which we didn't and tacked on an extra day to our stay!), there are homes available for purchase on the property. We are saving our pennies!!
