Our February trip to the idyllic island sanctuary of Lanai couldn't have come at a better time. We had just endured months of evacuations from Santa Barbara and then Mary lost her home in the January 9th Montecito mudslide. Arriving at the Four Seasons Lanai was like being enveloped in a warm, tropical hug far away from our rather harsh realities at home.
