XV BEACON is Boston's Poshest Hotel
To kick off our recent New England end of summer tour, we flew direct from LAX to Boston on Virgin America (our favorite airline) and reveled in plush American history at the elegant and intimate XV Beacon hotel. We had a sublime corner room with views of the Boston Common gardens, half a block away. After being cooped up on the plane all day, we were delighted by the Beacon Hill location of the hotel-- we walked around the corner to meet friends at Chef Barbara Lynch's famous No. 9 Park restaurant. After dinner, which was delicious but not sure worth the price tag, we strolled the quaint narrow streets before bed. The next day, beginning our day with room service for breakfast, we were ready to explore the shops on Charles Street and Boston Common garden.
What we loved about XV Beacon: the location; the roof deck (get a drink from the bar at Moo downstairs or your well stocked (albeit pricey!) mini-bar and head up for sunset over Boston); pet friendly-- we love Heidi, the Bernese Mountain Dog who belongs to GM, Amy Finsilver. They both gave us a tour; the rooms are elegant yet cozy and feel like a deluxe apartment; and the staff is friendly and accommodating. A lovely start to our New England excursion!
