The Healthy Side of NYC- yoga and juices
We normally are very hedonistic when in New York. Maybe it's a throwback to our nostalgic days of youth when we could stay up all night dancing and drinking and still function the next day? Maybe it's living in LA where fantastic restaurants are scarce? Maybe it's not having to drive home at the end of a night of being able to see so many friends in so many different venues all in the same night?
This last trip we discovered a little balance. Maybe it's maturity? Who knows, but it felt good and these days we need a little balance to survive!!
First stop, Kula Yoga in Tribeca. What a cool studio this is! With frescoed ceilings, Moroccan lanterns and a zen yet hip vibe, we loved the class we took with Erin D. After an hour and 5 minutes of challenging but not at all grueling or competitive poses, we felt refreshed, toned and revitalized after the class.
To further the positive benefits of yoga, we took to imbibing a different sort of cocktail-- Organic Avenue's juices. With an outpost just blocks from our mother's apartment in Soho, we stopped by daily for a Green Love juice for a dose of cleansing and energizing hydration in a bottle. We also tried the Chai Love and Green Monkey smoothies as afternoon snacks and found them filling while also imparting a little extra zip to our step....
