Brambila Salon opens in a fabulous oceanfront space in Santa Monica, CA!

Mary Brambila has been our hair maven for years-- she has lightened, darkened, cut, lengthened, strengthened and glammed up our hair.  Mary's knowledge and skill with hair is infused with her thoughtful, dynamic and outgoing personality.  Her newest salon, Brambila Salon, just opened it's doors a few weeks ago and reflects Mary's prowess and friendliness with ocean views, hard wood floors, metallic Japanese garden stools and sleek white laquered furniture.  The space is airy, inviting and intimate.  Like going to your friend's chic, laid back beach house to emerge only more beautiful than when you arrived....

We asked Mary about her favorite summer getaway and how to best manage summer locks with all the sun and swimming that accompany these succulent summer months!

Firestone Sisters: Where do you go to getaway from it all, recharge and get inspired?

Mary: Ojai, CA is one of my favorite places to get away - about 2 hours north of LA. Its incredibly tranquil surrounded by beautiful mountains yet only a short distance from the city's hustle-bustle.  And if you are looking to spurge and get pampered, the best place to stay is the 5-star resort up there - The Ojai Valley Inn & Spa!

"How should we care for our hair while enjoying the sun, pool, beach this summer?  Any products you are loving right now?" 

Your hair needs extra special attention during the summer months. After a swim at the beach or pool, I recommend using a hydrating and deep cleaning shampoo like Orofluido shampoo and deep conditioning.

Be sure to wet your hair with water before you go into the pool, and add in a leave-in conditioner so your hair absorbs less of the chlorinated water.  Also, wearing a hat if in the sun will always help to keep your hair healthy and not dried out.

If you can stay out of the chlorinated pool, your hair will thank you!
