Feliz Anno Neuvo-- Happy New Year from COSTA RICA!!
After two days of hellish travel and a total of 8 hours sleep over a 48 hour period, we made it to our final destination of St. Teresa, Costa Rica. We've had action packed, adventurous days down here and are loving the bohemian, yoga/surfer lifestyle, accented with thrill seeking escapades. More on that over the next two days..... For now we want to wish you the happiest of new year's and share an amazing perspective that helped ring in our 2011.
We somehow managed to get ourselves to the 9am yoga class this morning -- in an open air pavilion looking at the ocean and surrounded by banana trees. The rigorous class began with Nancy, our teacher, reading a passage about Kali, the Hindu goddess of eternal energy, time and change and imploring us all to tap into our own fierceness and destroy our fears and old patterns that no longer serve us, in order to make room for the new. Nancy then asked us all individually to set a goal and wish for the new year. After taking a moment to say it to ourselves, we joined hands in a circle, closed eyes and offered up our individual wishes (silently!) to the circle and all living beings.... Hopefully you are all feeling the effects and benefits of our wishes-- lots of looove and abundance heading your way!!
Following, we did 20 sun salutations A and then 11 B... to honor 2011. It was sweaty and invigorating.
We got to finish the afternoon today with a little surf session -- perfect yin yang to start the New Year with!!
Tomorrow we will regale you with tales of zip lining, ATVs, beach resorts, rum drinks and more... xoxoxo
