Fess Parker Inn & Spa in Los Olivos, CA
Los Olivos and the Santa Ynez Valley is a sacred place to us. It is somehow incredibly exhilarating and festive and fun while being soulful and grounding all at once! Why don't we move there? I know, we're thinking about it. We'd be following in the footsteps of our Uncle Brooks Firestone who was a pioneer in the Valley by blazing a trail with starting one of (if not the) first wineries in the area. We get asked so often about where to stay up in the Valley that we thought we should start checking out more hotels in the area. For this trip, we checked into the only hotel in Los Olivos.
Fess Parker Inn & Spa is located on the "Main Street" of Los Olivos. The Inn is in walking distance to several tasting rooms, restaurants and shops, and it also houses a spa that features wine based therapies, a pool which is perfect for a sobering dunk after a day wine tasting, a Greek inspired restaurant called Petros, and plush guest rooms with fireplaces. Living in LA where we spend so much of our time in the car, it was a real treat to be able to walk around this charming town. We love wine tasting at the picture perfect Carhartt tasting room just down the block, and dinner at the newly reopened Mattei's Tavern was delicious (more to come on both later this week!), and as we overindulged it was key to be able to walk "home" to the hotel. An included breakfast at Petros the next morning was sublime- homemade Greek yogurt with honey, fruit and nuts, eggs made to order, coffees-- we were ready to take on the day!
So there you have it-- a perfect spot to call "home" in the Valley!
