Holiday Hangover Cures!!

With all of the holiday parties and toasting with champagne, that old evil hangover might sneak in...

Here's how we beat it back quickly!!

1. HYDRATE

The old hangover is a result of being dehydrated.  Water is always good, but we find Coconut Water 1000 times more hydrating and works right away because of all the electrolytes packed in.

2. SWEAT IT OUT

With your coconut water in hand, hit a steam room, sauna or take a hot bath.  If you can force yourself, gingerly exercise-- a hike, bike ride or brisk walk are all good options.  The blood flow and oxygenating your blood will help you feel better.

3. MEDICATE

Advil can be tough on your stomach, so take with food.  People swear by Excedrin, but it is really hard on your kidneys and liver which you have already overexerted, so skip it unless you're desperate.   Some of our best friends also swear by Alka-Seltzer.

4. EAT

Nothing like an egg sandwich to set you on the right course.  Smoothies with bananas in them can also be hydrating and help.  The Vitamin Barn in Malibu has a delicious smoothie called the Lean Protein that really seems to work.  Here's the recipe to try at home.

• 1/2 banana• 1 tablespoon coconut oil• 1 tablespoon almond butter• 1 scoop California natural greens• 1 teaspoon Matcha green tea• 20 grams protein powder 1 date• Serve over a glass of almond milk and ice.
