Kicking the Summer Cold! Oil of Oregano.

As a souvenir from our trip to France (the scoop to come!), I brought back a cough and a cold.  My throat burned, I was stuffed up, coughing and felt like crap.  I had managed to ward off the illness that Napper and Baby Ever (his first, so sad!) had caught presumably on the flight over until the last day in Paris.  I was worried it was going to drag on for weeks as Napper's had.  Having lunch with the duo that is clover PR who work solely with health and wellness clients, Alana, one half of the duo, recommended oregano oil.  I had been given this prescription ages ago for another sniffle by wonder healer and friend Gianna de la Torre and had forgotten or brushed off such herbal remedies.

However, I felt crummy enough to try anything.  So I gulped and gargled with oil of oregano and lo and behold, this cold/cough was essentially gone the next day!  I did also employ some Afrin that evening so I could breathe and get a good night's sleep-- the yin yang approach...

Oregano oil is known in homeopathic circles as being an anti-bacterial, antiviral and anti-fungal.  The Huff Post reported, "One lab test in 2001 found that oregano oil was effective in killing staphylococcus bacteria, and another published laboratory study out of the UK found that it showed effectiveness against 25 different bacteria."

You can get a small bottle for less than $15 at Whole Foods!  Kick that cold out of your summer STAT.  xoxox
