When Mary and Lucy asked me to guest blog for their site, I jumped on the opportunity. Upon reading my blog, shopping at my boutique in Brentwood, Covet, and getting to know my lifestyle, they quickly identified that I should write about fashion as it relates to travel. As I began meticulously putting together outfits for upcoming Spring 2011 market week in New York, I realized it was the perfect time to get started on a post!
THE BASICS
Knowing that I practically live out of a suitcase, customers and friends often ask me how to pack. Below are four (out of probably hundreds) of my favorite basic suitcase items:
NEVER LEAVE HOME WITHOUT
If you were stranded on a deserted island and could only bring a few things, what would they be? Okay, okay, a hotel is not exactly a deserted island... But these are some things I never want to be without:
A FEW THINGS GOING IN MY SUITCASE:
When I'm packing for market week, I always keep in mind three things:
1) A lot of walking and 12+ hour work days.
2) Easy layers are key, as I must be able to try on samples in showrooms/tradeshows.
3) Individual pieces of my outfit must do double duty and transition from day to night.
