Our 5 favorite HOTEL POOLS in Los Angeles!

With a beautiful, hot and sunny weekend promised, hit the pool!  Some of our best LA days have been spent having lunch and drinks at various hotel pools around the city-- a vacation in your home town...

Here are the ones we love and that you can sneak into (no room key required):

Shangri La Hotel

The pool scene here at this Santa Monica hotel is quiet and feels relatively undiscovered.  Easy to just come right in and settle in to lounge chairs.  Order lunch and drinks to be delivered to you poolside.  The flat breads are delicious.

Loews Santa Monica

Allegedly just for hotel guests, we have too easily managed to get prime real estate poolside here.  Facing the ocean, located doors down from 5 star hotels Shutters and Casa del Mar in Santa Monica, the scene can be a little more hectic with kids running about, but a great option if you want the ocean view.  Don't even try to sneak into the pools at Casa Del Mar and Shutters-- we've tried.  They're like Fort Knox.

Sunset Tower

The former Argyle Hotel, now the Sunset Tower is an art deco Hollywood institution.  Steeped in Hollywood lore and history, this is a glam and sophisticated spot to sunbathe and lunch.  Yes, we did use lunch as a verb-- very Hollywood.

The London

We love this hotel and their rooftop pool which can get hopping.  Right in the heart of West Hollywood, a fun spot to spend an afternoon.

Beverly Hills Hotel

The pool at the Bev Hills Hotel is an iconoclastic Los Angeles spot.  Book a cabana or have lunch on the pool terrace amongst celebs and the quintessential cougars in bikinis and high heels with inflated lips and bosoms.  Fantastic people watching in a lovely setting.  The McCarthy Salad is one of our favorite salads anywhere.
