Our favorite LUGGAGE-- chic & durable, for a weekend away or a long journey....

We have fought back the gene we inherited from our Mom-- the overpacking gene, and although we can still go overboard with the Patagonia Freewheeler Max (it is huge!!), we've mastered the art of packing lightly-- most of the time.

The two brands of luggage we love feverishly that couldn't be more different (and we one day hope to cross-pollinate and create our own Firestone Sisters line of luggage!) are Patagonia and T. Anthony.

Patagonia

The durability of these bags is remarkable and the Patagonia policy that you can exchange any article of theirs that gets damaged or breaks for a new one, is hard to beat. The above mentioned Freewheeler Max is frankly enormous and if you pack it to the gills, you'll be overweight -- the bag itself weighs quite a bit.  But this is a great bag for longer trips and the wheels and separate compartments make it easy to use.

If you're going for a shorter trip, or will be moving locations and can repeat outfits, the little sister of the Freewheeler Max is perfect.  The Patagonia Freewheeler is roomier than it looks and is easy to maneuver as it winds up being quite compact...  and the wheels again.

We have both of the Freewheelers and use them whenever we can't do carry-on.

T. Anthony

Oh T. Anthony!  So chic, so stylish.  For a carry-on or a weekend away, the T. Anthony Wheeled 1-Suiter is our choice.

It is expensive, but it is so well made that we've crashed around with ours for over five years and the thing is still in perfect shape.  Maybe the company history-- they've been making bags since 1946-- has helped them hone the blend of elegance and craftsmanship.  As an accompaniment to the Wheeled 1-Suiter, the Weekender is a sophisticated and roomy little duffel bag.

Bon Voyage! xoxo
