Snowpine Lodge! A luxury lodge in Alta, Utah.

We love a good ski trip!  We don’t love the tedious drive to Mammoth or June Mountain, the inevitable delayed connections through Denver to Aspen or other ski towns, and the schlepping around of yourself and all your gear that seem to come with most ski trips we’ve been on.  We do love a fluffy bed and robe, delightful bar, delicious restaurant and cozy luxe environment for the pre and apres ski. Even better when the surroundings embrace the authentic old mining charm that make being in the mountains truly feel like an escape.

For parents looking to maximize a few days of skiing with or without the kids, the short direct flights from Santa Barbara and LAX to Salt Lake City, make Utah an easy choice over 6 hours in the car to Mammoth. We adore Park City and we love skiing Alta but we hadn’t been able to find a hotel that had it all and was convenient.

Welcome Snowpine Lodge!  Recently refurbished, Snowpine is modern and chic and slope side.  Ski in/ski out, with ski lockers designated for each room on the ground floor are located just down the hall from the hotel’s own ski shop that offers rentals.  There are also private bathrooms with showers available on the ski level, fresh baked cookies in the afternoon and hot chocolate and coffee available. If skiing is not your thing and you are looking to get your heart rate up, snowshoeing is a perfect way to explore Alta’s glorious back country. The Summer Road located right behind the lodge is the best place to set out on your breathtaking expedition.

After a day outdoors the Snowpine’s gorgeous spa is the perfect place to relax. They also have a well appointed games room and kid’s club called, The Nest.  The Nest has books, art supplies, a ball pit and a movie theater and you can drop your tiny humans off at 4pm and pick them up already fed as late at 9pm if you need a night of romance. Also if bringing your littles, the renowned Alf Engen Ski School is located next door to the lodge.
