We love a good ski trip! We don’t love the tedious drive to Mammoth or June Mountain, the inevitable delayed connections through Denver to Aspen or other ski towns, and the schlepping around of yourself and all your gear that seem to come with most ski trips we’ve been on. We do love a fluffy bed and robe, delightful bar, delicious restaurant and cozy luxe environment for the pre and apres ski. Even better when the surroundings embrace the authentic old mining charm that make being in the mountains truly feel like an escape.

Retreating at the Ritz Carlton Half Moon Bay!

We’re still basking in the glow of our latest Wild Precious Life Retreat! Hosted at the sublime Ritz Carlton Half Moon Bay perched above the Pacific Ocean on cliffs that look like Scotland but are really just 45 minutes from San Francisco, the Ritz was the perfect luxurious cocoon for our retreat.

Even though this was our 10th retreat (!!), and we know that magic will happen as it always does, we are still in awe of how the perfect people come together to create it. This retreat was focused on manifesting — clearing what isn’t working to make space for creating all that we desire.

Our February trip to the idyllic island sanctuary of Lanai couldn't have come at a better time. We had just endured months of evacuations from Santa Barbara and then Mary lost her home in the January 9th Montecito mudslide. Arriving at the Four Seasons Lanai was like being enveloped in a warm, tropical hug far away from our rather harsh realities at home.

Moving up to Santa Barbara from LA was a dream that we made happen a year ago. Can't believe it has already been a year! Finding our dream house in our budget was not going to happen on that timeline. Having survived two renovations since our marriage ten years ago, we were pretty determined to NOT do another one. However, when we discovered this 1890s farmhouse with a pool and a guesthouse and a tangle of gardens (woods?!) on a little lane in the heart of Montecito, we starting rethinking.
