There is nothing so scary as being told your house is sinking. When contractor, Chip Murdoch, revealed this news after shining his flashlight on a couple cracks in my bedroom and then looking underneath my house, panic set in! How was I going to afford this? I had heard horror stories of contractors driving up insane bills. I had invited Chip to come take a look at my house because I wanted to do a couple minor, cosmetic updates, no part of me was thinking I had a structural issue that I was not properly budgeted for.
THANKFULLY, Chip was the contractor on the scene! He sent me an estimate, which was a fraction of what my overactive imagination was fearing and his trustworthy, polite, friendly and respectful crew were at my house for about two weeks, everyday on time. The doors in my house now open properly, and the floor is level. Most importantly the total was what Chip's estimate had said it would be. Not a penny over and Chip and his crew were so helpful (fixing random odds and ends in my house as they saw them).
I actually trust them so completely and enjoyed working with them so much, that I am now having Chip do an estimate on redoing my bathroom and potentially converting my back house - a converted garage with no insulation, into an updated office.
