Out in SOUTH BEACH! Dinner and drinks at CASA TUA, my favorite club ever, in Miami.
On a recent girls weekend in Miami, our days were relaxing, sunkissed and restorative at the beach resort Ritz Carlton Key Biscayne, yet our nights were anything but! Although it has been around a number of years, Casa Tua in South Beach (founded in part by my role model India Hicks), was new to me on this trip and I am a big fan. Arriving at a beautiful Spanish style mansion that looks like a private home, we entered a secret garden of sorts for a birthday dinner in the terra cotta tiled dining room that again felt like we were in a friend's home (with immaculate taste and a sizable budget). After dinner, we simply went upstairs (lucky for us, our friend Ginette is a member) and danced the night away at the club. When I hear the word "club"-- dark dungeon like rooms with cheesy lights, thumping crappy music and smarmy men are what fill my mind. Casa Tua is the diametric opposite. White wing back chairs, window seats, white-washed high beamed ceilings, iconic black and white photographs and twinkling candles were the backdrop for us girls going wild. Which we did. Rumor has it that Casa Tua might be opening a Los Angeles outpost? Consider my application for membership submitted.
