Three birthdays in our group of close college friends led to a fantastic celebratory reunion in Miami last weekend!  Our home base was the lovely and relaxing Ritz Carlton Key Biscayne.  Normally I'm a South Beach girl, but the slower pace and quieter resort feel of the Ritz were a nice balance to evenings out on the town in South Beach.  We soaked up the sun on long beach walks, swims in the welcoming warm Atlantic and at boozy lunches on the sand at Dune, the Ritz's beach bar restaurant.  Had we had more time (and been there on a full moon) we would have certainly indulged in the full moon spin class where stationary bikes are moved to the lawn in front of the ocean and during the class the moon rises, followed by a new lunar themed spa treatmentEvening cocktails at RUMBAR with live Cuban music drifting in from the lobby was the perfect warm up for nights out on the town.  I am a Goombay Smash expert (a rum drink that is a signature staple on my beloved Harbour Island as well as at the Straight Wharf on Nantucket) and let me tell you, Rumbar at the Ritz is doing the cocktail justice....

Stay tuned for tales on where those sunset cocktails led us!  Spoiler alert-- into the warm embrace of South Beach.  More to come.  xoxo
