Mary's Tips and Tools for Getting Everything You Want This Year
Whenever I start a new year I feel this tremendous sense of wanting to make the coming year my best ever. No pressure! There are a couple of tools that I have found helpful and wanted to share.
We have it listed under inspirational reading in the "Black Book" section of the website, but Jack Canfield's "Success Principles" has been beyond helpful to me in terms of goal setting, staying calm, positive and focused. When I discovered the book last year and started actually applying the "principles," it was amazing how things started happening for me. And then of course everything was going well and I stopped practicing the exercises and...
SO, getting ready to conquer the world in 2010, I have picked the book back up and started using some of the exercises and within days I am seeing some positive results! I highly recommend the book as well as the CD for those of you who spend too much time in the car. While frustrated and stuck in traffic, it is a great way to calm down and feel like you're not wasting your time, but maybe even bettering yourself a little bit!
I also find keeping a journal helps me stay focused and sort of clears the clutter from my mind. I make an effort to not have it be a log of my frustrations and complaints (which it can be from time to time!) but more a place to be constructive and reflect on all the good things that are happening. I know I am sounding super touchy-feely, but hey, whatever works! And I'm not talking about writing a novel each morning, but just one page...
It's also helpful to have someone to do it with-- a partner. Check in weekly to keep each other inspired, encouraged and accountable.
Here's to 2010 being the best year yet for us all!
